In a former life, I was a statistician snubbing her future as an actuary and instead working on her graduate degree in applied mathematics... Until I realized that I hated teaching math, that is. After a bit of soul searching and fondly remembering my childhood dreams, I ended up enrolled in the MLIS program at UNC Greensboro and haven't looked back since.

I serve as the Metadata & Serials Librarian at the Charlotte School of Law - one third of our Technical Services team. I've been lucky enough to be part of this student-centered organization through their journey towards accreditation and beyond. Since I came on in 2007, we've grown from 60 students to 1,200 students, and I have absolutely enjoyed the ride. Every day is an adventure when you're part of a school that's constantly growing its collection, expanding its services, and building its reputation - all with a focus on serving the under-served!

I embrace my inner nerd at every opportunity and am not ashamed to admit that statistics and Greek letters turn me on. I adore cooking from scratch, and have to confess that my refrigerator is usually full of Mason jars with masking tape labels - everything from vegetable bouillon and chocolate ganache to homemade ricotta and yogurt. If I'm not at Charlotte Law or ensconced in the kitchen, I'm probably snuggled on the couch with my pup, shuttling my ten year old back and forth from black belt training, scouring thrift stores for vintage couture, or perched behind my laptop doing consulting work for the Peking University School of Transnational Law Library and other school libraries.
